ABOUT ME

As a specialist search agent and property consultant, I have unparalleled experience, contacts and depth of local knowledge

I have over 40 years’ of experience in the upper-end property market, having started my career with an estate agency in Surrey, where I worked for 6 years.

In 1987, I joined Strutt & Parker’s Lewes Office and then, in 1992, I became the youngest Associate Partner in the Firm, when I assumed responsibility for the Agency Department.  Working in a large multi-discipline office for a national firm of land and estate agents broadened my knowledge and introduced me to some of the finest properties in the region.  Over time, I established myself as an ‘agent of choice’, dealing almost exclusively with higher value country houses, farms and estates.

In 2008, I became an Equity Partner in the Firm and Head of Agency (South East), and subsequently Regional Chairman of the South East, with overall responsibility for Surrey, Sussex and Kent.  I was also a member of the Agency Board, Regional Executive Board and I represented my fellow Agency Partners on the Partnership Committee.

In 2017, Strutt & Parker was acquired by a French Bank.  A few years later, I decided to re-invent myself as a Search Agent and Independent Property Consultant, acting for those seeking a high value property.  Drawing on my years’ of experience, I’m also able to provide advice on any property related matter.

During my career as an estate agent, I handled the sale and purchase of between 1,750 and 2,000 houses, farms and estates, with a particular focus on top-end country houses.  This has given me unrivalled knowledge of the region, its properties and also a vast network of contacts.

Finally, from a personal perspective, I’m married to Kate.  We live in Waldron, a charming East Sussex village between Lewes and Tunbridge Wells.  We have two grown-up children, who live in London.  As a sports fanatic, especially cricket, I’m a Member of MCC and Chairman of Waldron Cricket Club, which was founded in 1757. I'm also a Governor of my old School, Haileybury  My other interests include gardening, wine, walking our dogs, travel, cars and my family……..although not necessarily in that order!
